It seems that computing has reached the stage where computers can think for themselves. Using pretraining on massive amounts of data and machine learning, AI has become advanced enough to match the intelligence of humans and even surpass the intelligence of humans. It seems in the modern world, AI is becoming the future of computing
Quantum Computing
Quantum Computing has become more advanced in recent years as the combination of quantum mechanics and computers enable computers to become more powerful, exploiting the quantum properties of the very small. Originating from the 1980s, the idea of the quantum computer emerged when several physicists published works that showed the quantum computers could be more powerful than normal computers. With Google's recent new Quantum chip released, it seems that quantum computers are becoming soon a reality in the future.
Cloud Computing
Cloud Computing involves delivering computin services, such as software, data and servers over the interent to offer faster innovation and economies of scale. It was developed in the early 2000s and Amazon Web Services(AWS) created it. Furthur advances in cloud computing have become reality as in 2010, Microsoft released Microsoft Azure as a cloud computing software.
Virtual Reality
The idea of virtual reality has been around for a long time with sci-fi universes exploring the concept such as Ready Player One, where it is set in a world addicted to a virtual reality known as the OASIS. However, it is becoming increasingly reality as tech companies such as Meta have announced plans to develop a virtual reality space for users to interact in. The announcement of the Oculus to the general public is a huge step forward in the development of virtual reality.

Graphic Processing Units are becoming increasingly relevant with the rise of AI, GPUs are becoming more relevant as they are used for machine learning and the creation of neural networks. GPUs play a role in video graphics development and has become and increasing subsitute for CPU to create visual images on computers.
